Improving Myponga’s Drinking Water
We’ve made it better
To improve the quality and taste of our customers’ water, we changed how we disinfect the cleaned and filtered water supplied to the Myponga township. Since early October 2018 residents enjoy chloraminated tap water.
We are now using chloramine, an alternative method for treating the township’s water, Like chlorine, It destroys bacteria and any pathogens that can be present in water plus it’s better able to penetrate to the length of the pipes in the Myponga supply network. This was done to overcome source water quality challenges as well as make the tap water taste better.

Sometimes our crews need to temporarily interrupt the water supply to our customers and/or manage traffic while they are working. Temporary traffic management may remain in place until reinstatement of the impacted road is complete.
